Election day is just days away---Tuesday of next week. Before you head to the polls, we're bringing you our last set of candidate profile interviews. CRI talked with incumbent Democrat congressman Dave Loebsack and Republican challenger John Archer---they're running for Iowa's 2nd district congressional seat. The 2nd district covers Mahaska County, but also includes Iowa City and stretches east to the Quad Cities. Loebsack visited the CRI studio in Oskaloosa---we met up with Archer during a campaign stop in Ottumwa.

Voters will see a third name on their ballot for the 2nd congressional district seat. Alan Aversa was nominated by petition, as opposed to being nominated by a political party. His website provides little information beyond indicating that he lives in Tucson, Arizona and is a graduate student studying physics. His candidacy appears to be based on pro-life positions. In order for Aversa to take office, he will need to be a resident of Iowa by election day.

You can watch the full interviews with Archer and Loebsack, as well as the other candidates in races on your ballot, on our homepage. Click on the Voter Guide. You'll also find information on where to vote and more about the issues that are important this election season. And make sure to go to our website election night, Tuesday November 6th, for our live coverage from the Mahaska County Courthouse. We'll give you updates as the numbers come in from across the county.
