Reading Garden Progressing Again Print E-mail

Construction on the public library's reading garden has resumed.

Stone work on the garden's amphitheater started a few weeks ago and director William Ottens says workers are continuing to make progress in the garden's first phase of construction, which should take about five weeks, depending on the weather. Ottens says hopefully work will be done before we see any snow on the ground.

"They are hoping to get it done but you know we are in the midwest and our next snowfall could be next week or you know, three weeks away," says Ottens.

This phase of the project cost the library around five thousand dollars and includes additional work on the buildings' sidewalks, installing handicap accessible ramps to bring them up to code.
