One of A Kind: "The Hodge" MAN's Burger

Hey everyone, A.J. here again!

I know its Heart Health Month, but sometimes you just have to indulge.

This week's blog is all about one of my favorite things...FOOD.  Last week, my friend and I guess I'll call him my personal chef, Michael Glesener made me one of the most fantastic things I've ever eaten.  It had 3 of my favorite things smashed all into one dish.

Picture this: A hamball patty covered in "Mike's Super Secret Sauce", topped with crisp bacon and if that doesn't sound good already, add fried "Mike's Mac & Cheese" on top and bottom for the bun.

If you have no imagination, guess what...here's a picture!

After eating this tasty treat I gave it my official review:

"The best burger you'll never eat with your hands. Only a fork allows you to dive into this juicy delicacy. The Hamball patty is one of a kind, and pressed by hand. The mac and cheese bun is insanely delicious! Pan-fried with bread crumbs to keep it together but also allowing the special sauce to soak in. The bacon on top is the diamond in the rough. Simply put, everything is better with bacon. Chef Michael Glesener prepared this per my request and he nailed it! I recommend you try this...immediately!"

And of course I took it upon myself to name it:  "The Hodge" MAN's Burger.  (Good play off my last name, don't you think?)

Chef Michael serves his friends and family almost every week for "Michael's Monday Night Meal", a fundraiser he started last year for his mission work with S.W.I.M. (Safe Water International Ministries).

If you'd like to give his food a try he does allow the general public to come to his meals, but you need to make a reservation.  Call him at 515-999-0457.

Also, stay tuned for a complete profile of Michael and his mission work on an upcoming episode of CRI's original program "Oskaloosa Today".

Until next time, my friends...
