A class comprised of eight students from William Penn University is launching a campaign titled “Break the Wall” that focuses on highlighting the negative effects of cyber bullying and promoting positive online interaction to counter it.

The class has begun a social media campaign on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram using it’s hashtag #breakthewall. The online campaign is centered around having people post positive affirmations. The class will take portable walls to Oskaloosa High School on Monday, April 29 and to William Penn on Tuesday, April 30. Students will write negative messages on those walls so that on Wednesday, May 1, the walls will be destroyed at the Oskaloosa Town Square at 6 p.m.

CRI met up with the William Penn University Students in charge of the social media initiative to explain the campaign.
